4) Employ our Gardeners

5) Buy items from our furniture shop

6) Payroll Giving

7) Leave a Gift in your Will

1) Financial donations

Donating money, whether a one off or regular donation, is an extremely important method of supporting BGC.

If you would like to purchase a specific item for us, then give us a call and we can discuss what we need and how the item will help us.

Ways to donate money:

Online

To donate securely using a debit or credit card, please visit Mydonate

If you have collected sponsorship then we need the sponsorship forms so we can claim Gift Aid. Therefore it’s best to send the forms in with the money –

By Post

Please use the ‘returning your money’ form to make a payment via a debit or credit card, or send it to us along with a cheque or postal order (made payable to Beds Garden Carers). Please do not send any cash through the post.

By Hand

Why not pay us a visit and see exactly where your money will be spent. Please call first to arrange a time.

Text to donate

Raise funds for BGC by using your mobile phone. Simply send a text message to 70070 including our code – BGCA11 – and a monetary amount. (e.g BGCA11£5)  You can donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10.

This service is free for BGC, and anyone on any mobile network can use it to donate to the charity. Your donation will be deducted from your mobile phone credit, or added to your monthly phone bill.  You won’t be charged for the text message either. For more information, click on http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/about-us/just-text-giving/index.htm

2) Donate Goods

Remember us when disposing of furniture, furnishings or electrical goods. You may have no more use for it – but we can turn it into something saleable. We collect free in the Bedford and Kempston area.

We use in our office and on the projects all types of items.  From envelopes to lawn mowers, everything we have donated means we can spend more on our services or can help us raise money via the raffles and auctions we hold.

We also recycle old mobiles, cameras, MP3 players and game consoles. For more information visit our recycling page.

3) Donate your Time

Volunteering with Beds Garden Carers is a great way to develop your skills and meet new people.

We are able to accommodate individual volunteers or large corporate teams and are always looking for helpful and reliable volunteers, whether you give an hour, a day or a year, we really value the time you spend with us.

So why not make good use of your skills, get involved and help us with anything from gardening and decorating to working in our charity shop, or making use of their own special skills to raise funds.

We have lots more information on our volunteering pages, or give us a call.

4) Commission our members to help with any of your gardening needs – no job is too large or too small.

We have a large gardening team who work on a wide range of contracts including hospitals, schools, churches, housing associations, commercial and private sites.

The gardening project gives people with learning disabilities experience of work and responsibility. The programme also builds self esteem and confidence and offers project members the opportunity to attain a wide range of skills.

5) Purchase items from our store in Kingsway, Bedford. It is open from 9.30 until 4 from Monday to Friday, and we deliver your purchases free in the Bedford and Kempston area.

6) Payroll Giving is an easy and tax efficient way for employees to donate to charity.

BGC has an award winning approach we can use to attract employees to donate and is an excellent way for a company to support its employees and its community engagement program. See our separate page in corporate support for more information.

7) Leave a gift in your will

When making a Will, remember BGC, a gift will make all the difference, no matter how small.

Just as a Will brings security to your family’s future, a legacy to BGC will bring security to the future of numerous vulnerable people who rely upon BGC to make a difference to their lives.

This gift can be made via any Solicitor, or for further information contact Sharon Hart.
