Accessing our services at BGC couldn’t be easier. You can contact us directly or ask your carer / guardian or social worker to call or email us. Ask for Sharon Hart on 01234 352899 or email Sharon@bedsgardencarers.org.uk
Next we arrange a convenient time for you to come and visit us for a chat and a look around, either on your own or with your carer / guardian or social worker.
When you visit us for the first time we ask that you bring with you a filled in personal details form which you can download here – BGC personal details form – (or we can send you one in the post if you prefer).
The next step would be to arrange a free taster day for you to try out some of the activities we do. To get a better idea of all the activities you could try, you can look through our different website pages or download our booklet here – BGC Booklet – this booklet will help you get an idea of what activities are available every day and some of the special holidays and days out we do.
After your taster session if you wish to continue coming to BGC we ask for a care plan and/or a current risk assessment form and a contract will need to be completed.
We charge £15 per session (a session is a morning or an afternoons activities) or £30 for the whole day. We invoice 1 month in arrears.
If you live in Bedford we can pick you up in our minibus in the morning and drop you off home again at the end of the day. This is a free service. Alternatively many people make their own way in on the bus as the bus station is only a few minute walk from BGC.
At lunch time you can have a home cooked meal for £2 if you would like one.
The Saturday club is open to adults with learning disabilities; you don’t need to attend our day services to come to the club.
Saturday Club runs for 5 hours, times dependant on activities being offered, times are stated on the rota, and we meet at the BGC building.
Saturday Club charges a base rate of £12.50 per session any extras are stipulated on the rota.
All that is needed to join is an informal chat, and a copy of your personal details and a copy of up to date risk assessments for our insurance purposes.
An up to date rota of activities can be found on our diary page. More information on the Saturday club can be found in the webpage in the about us section.
If you are interested in one of our holidays that we have talked about on the webpage under social activities then get in touch, you would be more than welcome.
